Tick List
(1) Evaluation of product
My product that I have designed is made for my client Red Cross that will be used to give homes to people that have been affected by a natural disaster like an earthquake. My emergency shelter is made out of thick wood and is portable so the client won’t have to spend money on building the emergency shelter
. My emergency shelter is also self-sufficient. The emergency shelter has a water supplier that converts dirty water into clean using the sun lights energy and chemicals like salt. The emergency shelter I have designed also has portable solar powers that will give the family electricity to cook and live there life. Lots of people have been affected by a natural disaster and my client and my design will help them get back on their feet and start again.
The improvements I made to my product were that I made it self-sufficient so the people that got caused by the natural disaster can live there life until my client Red Cross is helping the area that has been caused. Another improvement I made to my emergency shelter was make it portable for my client since they will need many of these emergency shelters they can’t spend a lot of money on actually building the product so my emergency shelter will be built already and would just need to get unfolded.

(2) Testing
Reflect:
I think I really listened to my client and took the parts of the emergency shelters they liked and added them to the one that they liked the most and it became really good I listened to the feedback they gave me and changed they parts they didn’t like and added the parts they wanted I think I created the perfect one for them by combining all the parts they liked and using them in one emergency shelter.
The feedback I got from my client was very positive and good but there were some negatives and they did like some emergency shelters more than others. My client liked the solid houses more than the tents because it seemed that the people that were affected by the natural disaster feel more at home and can feel at home than staying in a tent with all the others and I think it’s much better and easier cause the tent is portable but it would take lots of time to put up like one of my emergency shelter had lots of sides and was very let’s say abstract so it had lots of poles and plastic tubes keeping it in that shape so it would have been hard to build.

(5) Improvements
I have tried to design and construct an emergency shelter that my clients will like. But even though I have done everything they have asked there are still things and points of my design of the emergency shelter that can and could be improved.
My emergency shelter has no windows. I could improve it by adding windows and reducing the electricity of the solar panels by adding windows that don’t break and that are safe to have and that does not break easily and won’t break if there is a storm.
Something else that could be improved is the roof the rood isn’t very stable since there are two poles supporting the roof for it to shut or close since it can open or close the roof will probably have some problems when it rains since it isn’t shut properly. This isn’t good since there will be a 50% chance there will be another storm or rain again. My emergency shelter isn’t safe for storms but the emergency shelter is stuck to the ground so it won’t move or have a chance that it can slide of the blocks and stay stable and support the emergency shelter the blocks help if there is a flood they would be safe from it.
The parts of my emergency shelter that I could improve on is the roof and make it a better system on how it shuts and closes. The windows and to reduce the amount electricity is used even though it is solar panel doesn’t mean you should use electricity all the time you will need the energy you collect from the sun in the day for the night. The solar panels if it rain’s it won’t be very safe .
